Nhân Dân’s feature on a new generation of foreign direct investment in Ho Chi Minh City includes Automation Technologies Vietnam, part of Singapore-based Ito Group, as an example of investment focused on engineering capability, greener production and higher-value manufacturing.

A new automation manufacturing investment

According to the report, the Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority licensed an approximately USD 8 million project in Linh Trung 1 Export Processing Zone. Construction is expected to begin in August 2026, with operations planned for January 2027.

The approximately 12,000 m² facility is described as Ito Group’s second production factory dedicated to the design and manufacture of automation equipment, including control systems, robotics, machine vision, measurement sensors and manufacturing data management.

Engineering value with a greener production model

The article presents Ito Vietnam’s view that greener production should also improve investment efficiency, reduce waste and create more value from the same resources. This direction connects environmental responsibility with practical manufacturing performance.

Nhân Dân also notes Ito Vietnam’s 14 years of operations in Ho Chi Minh City and its role as a global production base within Ito Group. The company continues to develop local engineering talent for international automation projects.

Recognition of next-generation FDI

HEPZA identifies the project as a high-skill, high-technology investment and the first FDI project licensed through its special green-lane process. The report states that the application began in early March and the investment registration certificate was issued on 26 June 2026.

For Ito Vietnam, the new facility represents the next stage of long-term engineering and manufacturing development in Vietnam, with an emphasis on advanced automation, responsible operations and global customer support.
